Lovrijenac FortressThe Red Keep in Kings Landing. The vast majority of Red Keep scenes were filmed here, including Joffrey's name day tournament and Cersei's long dialogues with Littlefinger. Fun fact: you can rent it for a wedding for €4,000.
Dubrovnik West HarbourMultiple GoT scenes filmed around this picturesque harbour: Blackwater Bay where Stannis Baratheon is defeated, the waterfront houses where soldiers search for Robert's bastard children, and the pier where Shae and Sansa talk.
Pile HarbourThe small beach harbour just outside Pile Gate was Kings Landing's main port. Used for the scene in Season 2 when Myrcella sails to Dorne, and again in Season 6 when Cersei waits for her return. Kayak tours depart from here today.
Fort BokarPart of the city walls, Fort Bokar appears throughout all seasons as characters walk the walls of Kings Landing. Most recognised in Season 2, Episode 8, where Tyrion and Varys look out to sea planning the city's defence.
Gradac ParkThe Purple Wedding was filmed here — the infamous feast where Joffrey is poisoned in Season 4. The park was heavily dressed with props and a statue in the fountain. To film it, the entire adjacent car park had to be closed for days.
Pile GateThe main entrance to the Old Town was the gates of Kings Landing. Famous for the Season 2 riot where Joffrey orders 'kill them all' after being pelted with manure, and for Jamie Lannister's return in Season 3. Fun fact: the gate is almost never closed, but HBO shut it for filming.
Minčeta TowerThe highest point of Dubrovnik's city walls was the House of the Undying in Season 2, where Daenerys and Ser Jorah circle the tower searching for her stolen dragons. Accessible via the city walls walk ticket.
Ethnographic Museum 'Rupe'The entrance to this museum served as the entrance to Littlefinger's brothel. The archway nearby features in a scene between Oberyn Martell and Tyrion Lannister in Season 4.
Jesuit StaircaseOne of the most iconic GoT scenes: Cersei's Walk of Shame begins here in Season 5, Episode 10. Cersei stands at the top of these baroque stairs looking down at the crowd below St. Ignatius Church. The most expensive scene HBO filmed in Dubrovnik — every business on the street had to be paid for closure.
St. Dominic StreetCersei's Walk of Shame continues down this cobblestone street, with the crowd flanking her on all sides. Also used as Kings Landing's market in multiple earlier scenes.
Dominican Monastery StepsThe distinctive circular steps at the entrance of the Dominican Monastery were the setting in Season 2 where a man delivers a speech against the Lannisters to a gathered crowd.
Ploče GateThe eastern entrance to the Old Town marks the end of Cersei's Walk of Shame in Season 5, Episode 10 — she finally arrives at the Red Keep. Inside the gate, a Season 2 scene shows Tyrion speaking to Lancel Lannister from his carriage.
Rector's PalaceThe Gothic-Renaissance courtyard stood in for the palaces of Qarth in Season 2. Daenerys meets the Thirteen rulers here and asks for ships to sail to Westeros — only to be turned down.
Lokrum IslandA short ferry from the Old Harbour, this island was Qarth in Season 2. The botanical gardens and former Benedictine Monastery feature in garden party scenes. The original Iron Throne gifted by HBO is inside the Visitors Centre — you can sit on it. Wild peacocks roam the island, which inspired GoT's Qarth decorations.
Hotel Belvedere (Ruins)This abandoned hotel outside Dubrovnik was the arena for the legendary fight between the Red Viper and the Mountain in Season 4. Destroyed in the Croatian War of Independence, it's been derelict for 30+ years. Now covered in graffiti, it still draws GoT pilgrims. Best views of Old Town in the city.
Trsteno ArboretumA 25-minute drive (or bus from Pile Gate) brings you to these Renaissance gardens overlooking the Adriatic — the palace gardens of Kings Landing from Season 3 onwards. First seen when Sansa confides in Olenna Tyrell. Europe's oldest arboretum.
